A RESOLUTION
1 Designating the weekend of October 10 through 13, 1996, as
2 "AIDSWALK '96" in Monroe County.
3 WHEREAS, The HIV Task Force of Monroe County and WSBG radio
4 will sponsor "AIDSWALK '96" on the weekend of October 10 through
5 13, 1996, to increase public understanding and awareness of this
6 disease; and
7 WHEREAS, For many families affected by this disease, the
8 options are too few, and we are all reminded on "AIDSWALK '96"
9 of the importance of service and of those who provide it to our
10 community and that moneys raised during this weekend will go
11 directly to helping those living with HIV/AIDS in our community;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, This marks the fourth year WSBG, Monroe County's
14 hometown radio station, has participated in conjunction with the
15 HIV Task Force of Monroe County to support individuals infected
16 with HIV/AIDS and to advocate for the prevention of further HIV
17 infection; therefore be it
1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
2 weekend of October 10 through 13, 1996, as "AIDSWALK '96" in
3 Monroe County.
