AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for the purchase of
6 supplies.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 807.1 of the act of March 10, 1949
10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
11 amended by adding a subsection to read:
12 Section 807.1. Purchase of Supplies.--* * *
13 (a.2) Once price quotations are obtained, the board of
14 school directors may, at its discretion, authorize the
15 district's purchasing agent to negotiate a price lower than that
16 of the lowest bid obtained pursuant to the procedures in
17 subsections (a) and (a.1). If a lower price is so obtained, it
18 shall become the bid of the lowest responsible bidder.
