AN ACT
1 Amending Title 24 (Education) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for credited school service.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 8302 of Title 24 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
7 § 8302. Credited school service.

9 (d) Extended year service credit.--Notwithstanding any
10 provisions of this title to the contrary, any school employee
11 with 30 years of service who is employed on a regular contract
12 or work schedule of at least 11 months or 220 days per year
13 shall receive at the time of retirement one year additional
14 service credit toward retirement for every six years that member
15 has been employed on such an extended yearly schedule. In order
16 to be eligible for the additional service credit, a member must
17 have served at least six years on an extended yearly schedule.
1 For every year beyond the initial six-year period, credit shall
2 be awarded on a fractional basis. For the purpose of awarding
3 extended year service credit, eligible members shall receive no
4 more than three years of additional service credit toward
5 retirement under the provisions of this subsection. Extended
6 year service credit shall be made available to any person who
7 qualifies under this subsection and is employed in the schools
8 of this Commonwealth on the effective date of this subsection.
9 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
