AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the
3 use of handcuffs when transporting certain delinquent
4 juveniles.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
9 § 6358. Use of handcuffs during transportation.
10 The legal custodian of any juvenile who is determined to be
11 delinquent and who is confined to a secure institution, center,
12 youth development center, camp or other facility may authorize
13 the use of handcuffs when transporting that juvenile outside of
14 the institution, center, youth development center, camp or other
15 facility. The provisions of this section shall also apply to the
16 transportation of any juvenile who is alleged to be delinquent
1 under this chapter.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 30 days.
