AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," prohibiting alcoholic beverages on
6 school property; and imposing a penalty.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
10 as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
11 section to read:
12 Section 780.1. Alcoholic Beverages Prohibited on School
13 Property.--(a) It shall be unlawful for any individual to
14 transport, possess or consume alcoholic beverages on property
15 owned or leased by school entities, including, but not limited
16 to, buildings, grounds and vehicles.
17 (b) Any person violating the provisions of subsection (a)
18 commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be
1 sentenced to pay a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50) nor
2 more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250), and in default of
3 payment of the fine, shall undergo imprisonment for not more
4 than ten (10) days.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
