A RESOLUTION 1 Requesting the Department of Education to study the need for 2 alternative education programs. 3 WHEREAS, Many children in the schools today have multiple 4 chronic problems which impede learning and require alternative 5 teaching methodologies; and 6 WHEREAS, The need for alternative programs is even more 7 pronounced given the growing number of students who are expelled 8 for behaviors that would endanger others or themselves, the 9 nature of which makes the regular classroom assignment 10 inappropriate; therefore be it 11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives request the 12 Department of Education to study the need for alternative 13 education programs which can accommodate the needs of all 14 students who require them; and be it further 15 RESOLVED, That the Department of Education make a report of 16 its findings and recommendations to the Governor and to the 17 House of Representatives not later than December 31, 1993.
