        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, APRIL 21, 1993

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating May 6, 1993, as "Commonwealth Day of Prayer."

     2     WHEREAS, The designation of a specific day for prayer is
     3  provided for by Federal law; and
     4     WHEREAS, Under Public Law 100-307 the President is directed
     5  to set aside and proclaim the first Thursday in May in each year
     6  as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United
     7  States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in
     8  groups, and as individuals; and
     9     WHEREAS, It would be fitting that a day be devoted to prayer
    10  in this Commonwealth; therefore be it
    11     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 6,
    12  1993, as "Commonwealth Day of Prayer."
