AN ACT
1 Amending the act of July 12, 1974 (P.L.458, No.161), entitled
2 "An act imposing an additional State tax on certain fuels;
3 providing for collection, lien and administration of the tax;
4 and making an appropriation," further providing for
5 distribution of the tax.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 4 of the act of July 12, 1974 (P.L.458,
9 No.161), referred to as the Liquid Fuels Additional Tax Act, is
10 amended to read:
11 Section 4. (a) The Department of Transportation shall
12 distribute annually an amount equal to 0.6% of the revenues
13 appropriated to it under section 3 to each authority created
14 under the act of April 6, 1956 (1955 P.L.1414, No.465), known as
15 the "Second Class County Port Authority Act," and identified
16 therein as an agency of the Commonwealth, for routine
17 maintenance and repairs on public highway bridges for which the
18 authority has maintenance or repair responsibility.
19 (b) The Department of Transportation shall use the remaining
1 revenues appropriated to it under section 3 [of this act] for
2 the maintenance and resurfacing of secondary roads subject to
3 the limitations set forth in subsection [(b) of this section]
4 (c).
5 [(b)] (c) The revenues shall be apportioned by the
6 department for expenditure in the several counties of the
7 Commonwealth in the ratio that the total mileage of State
8 highways in any county bears to the total mileage of State
9 highways in this Commonwealth.
10 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
