A RESOLUTION 1 Petitioning the Postmaster General of the United States Postal 2 Service to issue a stamp recognizing the 50th Anniversary of 3 the Civil Air Patrol. 4 WHEREAS, December 1991 marks the 50th Anniversary of the 5 establishment of the Civil Air Patrol; and 6 WHEREAS, The Civil Air Patrol is the official civilian 7 auxiliary of the United States Air Force; and 8 WHEREAS, As its primary function, the Civil Air Patrol 9 conducts search and rescue missions for the Air Force; and 10 WHEREAS, The Civil Air Patrol participates in emergency 11 airlift and disaster relief missions; and 12 WHEREAS, The Civil Air Patrol sponsors various educational 13 programs, including a cadet training program and other 14 educational programs for junior and senior high school students 15 and an aerospace education program for adults; and
1 WHEREAS, The Civil Air Patrol has made important 2 contributions to our nation over the past 50 years and has 3 maintained a distinguished record of service during that time; 4 therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 6 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania respectfully request the Postmaster 7 General of the United States Postal Service to issue a stamp 8 recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol; and be 9 it further 10 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to 11 the Postmaster General of the United States Postal Service and 12 to the Civil Air Patrol Headquarters, Maxwell AFB, Alabama 13 36113.
