A RESOLUTION 1 Honoring Pennsylvanians who served in the Persian Gulf War and 2 designating July 4, 1991, as "Pennsylvania Persian Gulf War 3 Recognition Day." 4 WHEREAS, The United States of America is in the process of 5 returning her victorious and gallant sons and daughters from the 6 Persian Gulf Theater of Operations; and 7 WHEREAS, The President of the United States has designated 8 July 4, 1991, as the date for national recognition of the 9 service and sacrifice of America's Armed Forces in the Persian 10 Gulf Conflict; and 11 WHEREAS, Approximately 25% of the members of the United
1 States Armed Forces serving in Operation Desert Shield/Desert 2 Storm are from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and 3 WHEREAS, It is most appropriate for Pennsylvanians to extend 4 recognition, honor and gratitude to her valiant sons and 5 daughters for their service and sacrifice; therefore be it 6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate July 4, 7 1991, as "Pennsylvania Persian Gulf War Recognition Day"; and be 8 it further 9 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all 10 Pennsylvania counties and municipalities to join in appropriate 11 celebrations and ceremonies honoring Pennsylvania's courageous 12 sons and daughters for their service and sacrifice.
