A RESOLUTION
1 Honoring United States troops in Operation Desert Storm with
2 yellow ribbon displays from Commonwealth buildings.
3 WHEREAS, Operation Desert Storm commenced January 16, 1991,
4 and consists of a multinational force, including 450,000
5 American troops whose mission is to execute the mandates of the
6 United Nations and the United States Congressional resolutions
7 to liberate the Nation of Kuwait; and
8 WHEREAS, Many Pennsylvania men and women are members of the
9 United States Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine units currently
10 serving in the Red Sea, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea, Saudi
11 Arabia and other locations and are participating in Operation
12 Desert Storm; and
13 WHEREAS, The contribution made by the members of the military
14 forces in the Middle East is deeply appreciated by the citizens
15 of this Commonwealth and the members of the House of
1 Representatives; therefore be it
2 RESOLVED, That as a symbol of appreciation for and in
3 recognition of the contributions made by America's military
4 forces in the Middle East, a yellow ribbon be displayed
5 continuously from all Commonwealth buildings and public grounds.
