AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the use of dealer
3 registration plates.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1336(a)(2)(ii) and (b) of Title 75 of the
7 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, amended August 5, 1991 (P.L.
8 , No.26), are amended to read:
9 § 1336. Use of dealer registration plates.
10 (a) General rule.--

12 (2) Dealer registration plates may be used on any laden
13 or unladen vehicle owned or in possession of a dealer or
14 manufacturer, but only if the vehicle is being held for sale
15 and is being used for any of the following purposes:

17 (ii) For testing vehicles in the possession of the
18 dealer [or manufacturer] within a radius of 25 miles of
1 the place of business of the dealer [or manufacturer].
2 Vehicles in the possession of the manufacturer may be
3 tested within a radius of 50 miles of the place of
4 business of the manufacturer.

6 (b) Records.--Records shall be kept by the dealer in a
7 manner prescribed by the department indicating which vehicles
8 have been used as provided in subsection (a)(2)[, (5) and (6)]
9 (i), (iv) and (v). The records shall be open to inspection by
10 representatives of the department and police officers.
11 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
