AN ACT
1 Amending the act of December 20, 1982 (P.L.1404, No.325),
2 entitled "An act regulating self-service storage and
3 providing for owners' liens and the enforcement thereof,"
4 further providing for payment and satisfaction of liens.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 9 of the act of December 20, 1982
8 (P.L.1404, No.325), known as the Self-Service Storage Facility
9 Act, is amended to read:
10 Section 9. Payment and satisfaction.
11 [Before] No later than five business days before any sale or
12 other disposition of personal property, the occupant may pay the
13 amount necessary to satisfy the owner's lien and other
14 reasonable expenses incurred hereunder and thereby redeem the
15 personal property. Upon the payment and satisfaction of the
16 amount necessary to satisfy the owner's lien and the reasonable
17 expenses incurred, the owner shall return the personal property
18 and the owner shall thereafter have no liability to any person
1 with respect to such personal property.
2 Section 2. The amendment of section 9 of the act shall apply
3 to sales and dispositions that take place at least five business
4 days after the effective date of this act.
5 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
