                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for the requirement of supplying
     3     names and addresses to the Department of Transportation.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1515 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 1515.  Notice of change of name or address.
     9     (a)  General rule.--It is the responsibility of every person
    10  who applies for or receives a driver's license or nondriver's
    11  identification card to provide the department with his current
    12  and correct address for department files.
    13     (b)  Change of address.--Whenever any person after applying
    14  for or receiving a driver's license or a nondriver's
    15  identification card moves from the address named in the
    16  application or in the driver's license or nondriver's
    17  identification card issued or when the name of a licensee or
    18  nondriver is changed, such person shall, within 15 days

     1  thereafter, notify the department in writing of the old and new
     2  addresses or of such former and new names and of the number of
     3  any license or nondriver's identification card then held by the
     4  person.
     5     (c)  Change of address when operating privilege suspended or
     6  revoked.--Whenever any person whose operating privilege has been
     7  suspended or revoked moves from the address named in the
     8  driver's license or nondriver's identification card, or when the
     9  name of such person is changed, that person shall, within 15
    10  days thereafter, notify the department in writing of the old and
    11  new addresses or of such former and new names and of the number
    12  of any license or nondriver's identification card held by that
    13  person at the time of suspension or revocation.
    14     (d)  Notice of suspension or revocation of operating
    15  privilege.--For the purposes of actual notice of suspension or
    16  revocation of an operating privilege pursuant to this title, a
    17  person shall be deemed to receive actual notice of suspension or
    18  revocation of the operating privilege when the notification is
    19  sent by the department by first class mail to the address of
    20  record of that person in department files.
    21     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
