AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, adding a definition of "self-insured
3 entity."
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4117(j) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:
8 § 4117. Insurance fraud.
9 (j) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following
10 words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this
11 subsection:

13 "Self-insured entity." An entity providing benefits and
14 qualified in the manner set forth in 75 Pa.C.S. § 1787 (relating
15 to self-insurance) and a person, corporation, company or other
16 entity acting as an insurer or self-insurer.
