                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an additional appropriation to the Department of Public
     2     Welfare for use in county mental health/mental retardation
     3     programs to provide family-oriented intervention services for
     4     children with disabilities.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  The sum of $350,000, or as much thereof as may be
     8  necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of Public
     9  Welfare for the fiscal year July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, for
    10  use in county mental health/mental retardation programs to
    11  provide a diverse array of family-oriented intervention services
    12  serving children from birth through 21 years of age, in order to
    13  foster the integration of children with disabilities into the
    14  mainstream of life. The services shall include therapeutic
    15  activities such as play therapy for families with disabled
    16  children, loan library of play materials, therapeutic and


     1  adaptive computer equipment and software, parent support and
     2  advocacy groups, workshops, recreation and social functions,
     3  lectures and school integration programs.
     4     Section 2.  The appropriation in section 1 shall be in
     5  addition to any sums appropriated for such purposes by the act
     6  of              (P.L.   , No.  ), known as the General
     7  Appropriation Act of 1991.
     8     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
