AN ACT
1 Amending the act of October 11, 1984 (P.L.906, No.179), entitled
2 "An act providing for the administration and allocation of
3 certain Federal Block Grants," further providing for the use
4 of funds by municipalities.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of October 11, 1984 (P.L.906, No.179),
8 known as the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement
9 Program for Nonurban Counties and Certain Other Municipalities,
10 is amended by adding a section to read:
11 Section 12.1. Use of funds by municipalities in 1992 and
12 thereafter.
13 (a) Purpose.--Notwithstanding any provision of this act, a
14 municipality receiving grants under this act shall allocate a
15 minimum of 50% of those funds for the following purposes:
16 (1) Emergency rental assistance.
17 (2) Removal of blighted housing.
18 (3) Housing rehabilitation.
1 (4) Housing cooperative units.
2 (5) Modular housing.
3 (b) Definition.--As used in this section, the term
4 "municipality" means any county, city, borough, incorporated
5 town or township receiving grants in any form under this act.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
