                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 21, 1953 (P.L.1323, No.373), entitled
     2     "An act concerning notaries public; and amending, revising,
     3     consolidating and changing the law relating thereto," further
     4     providing for documents to be recorded in the office of the
     5     recorder of deeds.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 12(c) of the act of August 21, 1953
     9  (P.L.1323, No.373), known as The Notary Public Law, amended June
    10  30, 1988 (P.L.462, No.78), is amended to read:
    11     Section 12.  Notarial Seal.--* * *
    12     (c)  In addition to the official seal required in subsection
    13  (a), a notary public shall also use and keep an embosser upon
    14  which shall be engraved the words "Notary Public, Commonwealth
    15  of Pennsylvania," and the name and surname of the notary. All
    16  documents executed [shall] may bear a legibly embossed
    17  impression. As long as the document left for recording in the
    18  office of the recorder of deeds has the official seal provided


     1  for in subsection (a) thereon, the recorder of deeds may
     2  disregard the existence or absence of the embossed impression.
     3     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
