AN ACT 1 Amending the act of April 12, 1951 (P.L.90, No.21), entitled, as 2 reenacted "An act relating to alcoholic liquors, alcohol and 3 malt and brewed beverages; amending, revising, consolidating 4 and changing the laws relating thereto; regulating and 5 restricting the manufacture, purchase, sale, possession, 6 consumption, importation, transportation, furnishing, holding 7 in bond, holding in storage, traffic in and use of alcoholic 8 liquors, alcohol and malt and brewed beverages and the 9 persons engaged or employed therein; defining the powers and 10 duties of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; providing 11 for the establishment and operation of State liquor stores, 12 for the payment of certain license fees to the respective 13 municipalities and townships, for the abatement of certain 14 nuisances and, in certain cases, for search and seizure 15 without warrant; prescribing penalties and forfeitures; 16 providing for local option, and repealing existing laws," 17 further providing for special occasion permits. 18 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 19 hereby enacts as follows: 20 Section 1. Section 408.4(a) of the act of April 12, 1951 21 (P.L.90, No.21), known as the Liquor Code, reenacted and amended 22 June 29, 1987 (P.L.32, No.14), is amended to read: 23 Section 408.4. Special Occasion Permits.--(a) Upon
1 application of any hospital, church, synagogue, volunteer fire 2 company, volunteer ambulance company, volunteer rescue squad, 3 bona fide sportsmen's club in existence for at least ten years, 4 or the auxiliary of any of the foregoing, and upon payment of a 5 fee of fifteen dollars ($15) per day, the board shall issue a 6 special occasion permit good for a period of not more than five 7 consecutive or nonconsecutive days: Provided, however, That the 8 five nonconsecutive days shall be used in a three-month period 9 measured from the date of the first day. Special occasion 10 permits may also be issued to a museum operated by a nonprofit 11 corporation in a city of the third class or a nonprofit 12 corporation engaged in the performing arts in a city of the 13 third class for a period of not more than six nonconsecutive or 14 ten consecutive days at a fee of fifteen dollars ($15) per day. 15 In addition, a special occasion permit may be issued to any 16 church, synagogue, volunteer fire company or charitable 17 organization once a year for a period of seven consecutive days 18 for the purpose of allowing "Monte Carlo Night." 19 * * * 20 Section 2.
