                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, imposing certain informational
     3     requirements on telephone sale solicitations.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 2906.  Telephone survey information.
     9     (a)  General rule.--Every person, partnership, association or
    10  corporate entity which utilizes the equipment of any regulated
    11  telephone company to solicit residents of this Commonwealth to
    12  make purchases over the telephone shall, prior to conducting the
    13  survey, provide the following information to the residents:
    14         (1)  The name of the entity conducting the solicitation.
    15         (2)  The address of the entity conducting the
    16     solicitation.
    17         (3)  The name of the person performing the solicitation.

     1     (b)  Penalty.--Any failure to comply with the provisions of
     2  subsection (a) shall be a violation of the act of December 17,
     3  1968 (P.L.1224, No.387), known as the Unfair Trade Practices and
     4  Consumer Protection Law.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
