A RESOLUTION
1 Commemorating the week of June 11 through 17, 1989, as "State
2 Veterans' Homes Week."
3 WHEREAS, Robert P. Casey, Governor of the Commonwealth of
4 Pennsylvania, has proclaimed the week of June 11 through 17,
5 1989, as "State Veterans' Homes Week"; and
6 WHEREAS, It will be the first time in Pennsylvania's history
7 that veterans' homes have been recognized in this manner; and
8 WHEREAS, The three State veterans' homes in Pennsylvania--the
9 Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, the Hollidaysburg
10 Veterans' Home and the Southeast Pennsylvania Veterans' Center--
11 are participating with planned activities to celebrate the week
12 and are paying tribute to our veterans who served gallantly to
13 preserve our freedom; and
14 WHEREAS, The ceremony for the signing of the proclamation by
15 Governor Casey will take place on Friday, June 16, 1989, at 12
16 noon in the Governor's Public Reception Room of the Main Capitol
17 Building, and the proclamation will be presented to the
1 commandants of the three veterans' homes; therefore be it
2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
3 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania commemorate the week of June 11
4 through 17, 1989, as "State Veterans' Homes Week."
