A RESOLUTION
1 Directing appointment of a select committee to investigate the
2 problem of drug abuse and drug-related crimes.
3 WHEREAS, There has been an increase in drug abuse and drug-
4 related crimes in this Commonwealth; and
5 WHEREAS, Drug abuse and drug-related crimes threaten the
6 moral, social and economic well-being of the citizens of this
7 Commonwealth; and
8 WHEREAS, There may be some legislative action necessary and
9 helpful in combatting the problems of drug abuse and drug-
10 related crimes; therefore be it
11 RESOLVED, That the Speaker of the House appoint a select
12 committee, consisting of five members from the majority party
13 and four members from the minority party, to investigate the
14 problems of drug abuse and drug-related crimes in this
15 Commonwealth; and be it further
16 RESOLVED, That, by December 15, 1989, the committee complete
17 its investigation and make a report of its findings and
1 recommendations to the Youth and Aging Committee of the House of
2 Representatives.
