                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Appointing a select committee to investigate the nature and
     2     extent of existing systems to meet emergency needs of
     3     adolescents.

     4     WHEREAS, There has been an increased awareness of the
     5  psychological emergency needs of adolescents; and
     6     WHEREAS, The Student Assistance Programs have proven
     7  effective in identifying children at risk; and
     8     WHEREAS, There is no clear understanding as to what systems
     9  exist throughout the State to deal with the emergency needs of
    10  adolescents, especially those under medical assistance;
    11  therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That a select committee of nine members of the
    13  House of Representatives be appointed to investigate the nature
    14  and extent of existing systems to meet the emergency needs of
    15  adolescents and to report to the General Assembly before the
    16  close of the 1989-1990 session.
