AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for sentences
3 for carrying unlicensed firearms.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 9720. Sentences for carrying unlicensed firearms.
9 A person convicted of violating 18 Pa.C.S. § 6106 (relating
10 to firearms not to be carried without a license) shall be
11 sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $750, or, if the person
12 is also convicted of violating 18 Pa.C.S. § 912 (relating to
13 possession of weapon on school property), a fine of not less
14 than $1,000.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
