                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," further providing for collective
     6     bargaining by campus police.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 2003-A(c) of the act of March 10, 1949
    10  (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, added
    11  November 12, 1982 (P.L.660, No.188), is amended to read:
    12     Section 2003-A.  Purposes and General Powers.--* * *
    13     (c)  Collective bargaining agreements in force at the time of
    14  enactment of this act shall remain in force for the term of the
    15  contract. New collective bargaining agreements with professional
    16  employes shall be negotiated on behalf of the system by the
    17  chancellor. The board shall make a coalition bargaining
    18  arrangement with the Commonwealth for the negotiation of new
    19  collective bargaining agreements with noninstructional employes,


     1  provided that campus police authorized to exercise police powers
     2  pursuant to section 2416 of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.177,
     3  No.175), known as "The Administrative Code of 1929," shall
     4  engage in coalition bargaining with the board and the
     5  Commonwealth pursuant to the provisions of the act of June 24,
     6  1968 (P.L.237, No.111), referred to as the Policemen and Firemen
     7  Collective Bargaining Act.
     8     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
