           MRKONIC, FOX, KOSINSKI, PESCI, BUNT, KUKOVICH, BILLOW,
           McCALL, ROBINSON, MICOZZIE, STISH, PRESSMANN, TELEK,
           E. Z. TAYLOR, PETRARCA, MAINE, COLAIZZO, LINTON, KAISER,
           McNALLY, NAHILL, GODSHALL, SERAFINI, MELIO, TANGRETTI AND

        AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
           APRIL 24, 1990

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 22, 1953 (P.L.1344, No.383), entitled
     2     "An act relating to marriage; and amending, revising,
     3     consolidating and changing the law relating thereto,"
     4     increasing fees to provide funding for domestic violence
     5     victims.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 19 of the act of August 22, 1953
     9  (P.L.1344, No.383), known as The Marriage Law, is amended to
    10  read:
    11     Section 19.  Fees.--The fee to be charged by the clerk of the
    12  orphans' court in various counties for issuing a marriage
    13  license or declaration and for returns thereof to the Department
    14  of Health shall be [three] thirteen dollars, two dollars and
    15  fifty cents of which shall be for the use of the clerk of the
    16  orphans' court of the county wherein such license is issued, and
    17  fifty cents for the use of the Commonwealth[.] and PLUS ten       <--

     1  dollars, WHICH SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO THE COST OF THE MARRIAGE   <--
     2  LICENSE, to be forwarded to the Department of Public Welfare for
     3  use for victims of domestic violence in accordance with the
     4  provisions of section 2333 of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.177,
     5  No.175), known as "The Administrative Code of 1929." In
     6  addition, the clerk shall make the usual charge for affidavits.
     7  All monies collected by the said clerk for the use of the
     8  Commonwealth shall, on or before the tenth day of the following
     9  month, be transmitted to the State Treasurer, to be placed in
    10  the General Fund for the use of the Commonwealth.
    11     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
