AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for attachment
3 of earnings.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 8127 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 8127. Personal earnings exempt from process.
9 The wages, salaries and commissions of individuals shall
10 while in the hands of the employer be exempt from any
11 attachment, execution or other process except upon an action or
12 proceeding:
13 (1) For support.
14 (2) For board for four weeks or less.
15 (3) Under the act of August 7, 1963 (P.L.549, No.290),
16 referred to as the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance
17 Agency Act.
18 (4) For a judgment creditor, in any county where a
1 lawful judgment is recorded.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in one year.
