        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY, SEPTEMBER 18, 1989

                                     AN ACT

     1  Further providing for the powers of constables.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4  Section 1.  Issuance of citation for littering.
     5     In addition to the other powers provided by law, any
     6  constable of a city of the second, second class A or third class
     7  or any borough or township may issue summary citations for
     8  violations of 18 Pa.C.S. § 6501 (relating to scattering rubbish)
     9  and 75 Pa.C.S. § 3709 (relating to depositing waste and other
    10  material on highway, property or waters).
    11  Section 2.  Effective date.
    12     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
