AN ACT 1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 2 Statutes, providing for warning devices for certain farm 3 equipment vehicles. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Section 4921(b) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania 7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read: 8 § 4921. Width of vehicles. 9 * * * 10 (b) Special vehicles.-- 11 (1) Any implement of husbandry or vehicle loaded with 12 vegetable produce or forage crops and not exceeding ten feet 13 in width may be driven, hauled or towed between sunrise and 14 sunset on highways other than freeways. 15 (2) Any implement of husbandry not exceeding 14 feet 6 16 inches in width may be driven, hauled or towed between 17 sunrise and sunset on highways other than freeways if 18 preceded by a lead vehicle prominently displaying a warning
1 device or, if such implement of husbandry is in tow, then the 2 vehicle that is towing shall display proper warning devices 3 to oncoming traffic between: 4 (i) Parts of one farm owned or operated by the owner 5 of the implement of husbandry. 6 (ii) Farms owned or operated by the owner of the 7 implement of husbandry located not more than 25 miles 8 apart. 9 (iii) (A) Farms; or 10 (B) a farm and a place of business of a mechanic 11 or dealer in implements of husbandry; 12 located not more than 100 miles away for the purpose of 13 buying, selling, trading, loaning and leasing, 14 demonstrating, repairing or servicing the implement of 15 husbandry. 16 (3) Special mobile equipment not exceeding nine feet two 17 inches in width may be driven, hauled or towed between 18 sunrise and sunset on highways other than freeways. 19 (4) The department may regulate the operation of special 20 vehicles subject to this subsection which regulations may 21 prohibit the operation of special vehicles on certain days or 22 during certain hours. 23 * * * 24 Section 2.
