AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, prohibiting the removal of safety equipment and
3 devices.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 4537. Removal of safety equipment and devices.
9 (a) Removal.--No person shall alter or remove any safety
10 equipment or devices installed by the vehicle manufacturer.
11 (b) Operator of vehicle.--If any safety equipment or devices
12 of any vehicle are altered or removed in violation of subsection
13 (a), the vehicle shall not be operated until the safety
14 equipment or devices are restored as originally installed by the
15 manufacturer and, after reinspection, an official inspection
16 sticker certifies it is in full compliance with this section.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
