AN ACT
1 Amending the act of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L.1656, No.581),
2 entitled "An act concerning boroughs, and revising, amending
3 and consolidating the law relating to boroughs," further
4 providing for certain utility billing.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L.1656,
8 No.581), known as The Borough Code, is amended by adding a
9 section to read:
10 Section 2479.1. Service to Multi-family Residential
11 Dwellings.--In the case of a borough that provides electric
12 utility service to the owner of a property on which are located
13 multi-family residential dwelling units, the borough shall bill
14 individually each residential dwelling unit at the request of
15 the owner at the same frequency and rates as for other
16 residential customers served by the borough, provided that the
17 owner pays for the installation of individual meters, if not
18 presently installed. In no case, however, shall the owner of the
1 property be liable for the debt of any tenants served by the
2 borough.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
