A JOINT RESOLUTION
1 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
2 of Pennsylvania, prohibiting a legislator from voting to
3 increase his expense allowance, whether for vouchered or
4 unvouchered expenses, if the increase would take effect for
5 the session in which the vote occurs.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby resolves as follows:
8 Section 1. The following amendment to the Constitution of
9 Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
10 That section 8 of Article II be amended to read:
11 § 8. Compensation.
12 The members of the General Assembly shall receive such salary
13 and mileage for regular and special sessions as shall be fixed
14 by law, and no other compensation whatever, whether for service
15 upon committee or otherwise. No member of either House shall
16 during the term for which he may have been elected, receive any
17 increase of salary, [or] mileage[,] or expense allowance,
1 whether for vouchered or unvouchered expenses, under any law
2 passed during such term or passed between the general election
3 day and the final day of the immediately preceding term.
