                               A JOINT RESOLUTION

     1  Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
     2     of Pennsylvania, prohibiting members of the General Assembly
     3     from receiving any increase in an unvouchered expense
     4     allowance during a current term of office.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby resolves as follows:
     7     Section 1.  The following amendment to the Constitution of
     8  Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
     9     That section 8 of Article II be amended to read:
    10  § 8.  Compensation.
    11     The members of the General Assembly shall receive such salary
    12  and mileage for regular and special sessions as shall be fixed
    13  by law, and no other compensation whatever, whether for service
    14  upon committee or otherwise. No member of either House shall
    15  during the term for which he may have been elected, receive any
    16  increase of salary, unvouchered expense allowance, or mileage,
    17  under any law passed during such term.
