                               A JOINT RESOLUTION

     1  Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
     2     of Pennsylvania, providing for four-year terms for members of
     3     the House of Representatives.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby resolves as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The following amendment to the Constitution of
     7  Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
     8     That section 3 of Article II be amended to read:
     9  § 3.  Terms of members.
    10     Senators shall be elected for the term of four years and
    11  Representatives for the term of [two] four years.
    12     Section 2.  At the first general election after the adoption
    13  of this amendment, Representatives in odd-numbered districts
    14  shall be elected for terms of four years and the Representatives
    15  in even-numbered districts shall be elected for terms of two
    16  years. Thereafter all members of the House of Representatives


     1  shall be elected for four years.
