                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for prostitution and
     3     related offenses.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 5902(e) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended and the section is amended by
     8  adding a subsection to read:
     9  § 5902.  Prostitution and related offenses.

    11     (e)  Patronizing prostitutes.--A person commits a [summary
    12  offense] misdemeanor of the third degree if he hires a
    13  prostitute to engage in sexual activity with him, or if he
    14  enters or remains in a house of prostitution or a motor vehicle
    15  for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity[.] with a
    16  prostitute. Upon conviction of an offense under this subsection,
    17  a person may be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $2,500.
    18     (e.1)  Soliciting for prostitution.--A person commits a

     1  misdemeanor of the third degree if he offers to hire another
     2  person to engage in sexual activity with him. Upon conviction of
     3  an offense under this subsection, a person may be sentenced to
     4  pay a fine of not more than $2,500.

     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
