                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further defining the offense of fleeing or
     3     attempting to elude a police officer.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3733(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 3733.  Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer.
     9     (a)  Offense defined.--Any driver of a motor vehicle who
    10  willfully fails or refuses to bring his vehicle to a stop, or
    11  who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a [pursuing police
    12  vehicle] police officer, when given visual or audible signal to
    13  bring the vehicle to a stop, [is guilty of] commits a summary
    14  offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine
    15  of $200.

    17     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
