        INTRODUCED BY TILGHMAN, SHUMAKER, SALVATORE, ROCKS, MOORE,
           HOPPER, CORMAN, WENGER, MADIGAN, HOLL, LEMMOND, PETERSON AND
           PECORA, MAY 25, 1988

        SENATOR TILGHMAN, APPROPRIATIONS, AS AMENDED, JUNE 22, 1988

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to The Medical College of Pennsylvania,
     2     East Falls, Philadelphia.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $3,004,000 $2,949,000 is hereby         <--
     6  appropriated to The Medical College of Pennsylvania located in
     7  East Falls, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1, 1988, to
     8  June 30, 1989, for instruction in the Doctor of Medicine
     9  program.
    10     Section 2.  The sum of $954,000 $936,000 is hereby             <--
    11  appropriated to The Medical College of Pennsylvania,
    12  Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1, 1988, to June 30,
    13  1989, for the general maintenance of The Medical College of
    14  Pennsylvania, including the School of Allied Health, and student
    15  aid.
    16     Section 3.  Payments to The Medical College of Pennsylvania
    17  on account of the appropriations provided in sections 1 and 2


     1  shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
     2  basis of costs during the fiscal year.
     3     Section 4.  The Medical College of Pennsylvania shall provide
     4  such information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions
     5  of this act and in such form and manner as the Department of
     6  Education shall prescribe.
     7     Section 5.  The Medical College of Pennsylvania shall report
     8  its revenues and expenditures and present its financial
     9  statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting
    10  principles and procedures for educational institutions as set
    11  forth in the "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the
    12  "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State
    13  System of Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-
    14  State-Related Colleges and Universities."
    15     Section 6.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1988, or
    16  immediately, whichever is later.
