           ROBBINS AND BOYES, SEPTEMBER 27, 1988

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, SEPTEMBER 28, 1988

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the Governor to direct the Department of Environmental
     2     Resources to support the designation of Presque Isle Bay,
     3     Lake Erie, as an area of concern.

     4     WHEREAS, The Science Advisory Board of the International
     5  Joint Commission and the Water Resources Commission of Erie
     6  County have made the formal recommendation that Presque Isle
     7  Bay, Lake Erie, be designated an area of special concern by the
     8  Department of Environmental Resources of the Commonwealth of
     9  Pennsylvania; and
    10     WHEREAS, This governmental designation will add State focus
    11  and State and Federal funding and grant money toward the
    12  revitalization of Presque Isle Bay; and
    13     WHEREAS, It is essential that the Commonwealth of
    14  Pennsylvania support the designation of Presque Isle Bay, Lake
    15  Erie, as an area of concern; therefore be it
    16     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives respectfully
    17  request that the Governor direct the Department of Environmental
    18  Resources to support and urge the designation of Presque Isle

     1  Bay, Lake Erie, as an area of concern; and be it further
     2     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
     3  Governor Robert P. Casey.
