A RESOLUTION
1 Declaring the week of May 17 through 23, 1987, as "Ruritan
2 Week."
3 WHEREAS, Ruritan is a civic organization whose objectives
4 include a greater understanding between rural and urban people
5 and the problems of each, as well as their mutual problems; and
6 WHEREAS, Ruritan serves the community and contributes
7 directly to its progress, encouraging and fostering the ideals
8 of service as the basis of all worthy enterprise; and
9 WHEREAS, Ruritan is similar to service organizations of
10 cities, but is designed to meet the needs of rural people and
11 rural communities, promoting fellowship and goodwill among its
12 members and citizens of the community, and unifying the efforts
13 of individuals, organizations and institutions in the community
14 toward making it an ideal place in which to live; therefore be
15 it
16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize Ruritan
17 by declaring the week of May 17 through 23, 1987, as "Ruritan
1 Week."
