AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, authorizing dealers of motor carrier vehicles to be
3 agents for the Department of Revenue for certain purposes
4 relating to the motor carrier road tax identification marker.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 2102(c) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9 § 2102. Identification markers required.

11 (c) Issuance of markers.--
12 (1) Identification markers shall be issued on a 12-month
13 basis, effective April 1 of each year, and shall be valid
14 through the next succeeding March 31; however, enforcement of
15 this section shall not become effective until April 15 of
16 each year as to motor carrier vehicles displaying the
17 previous year's identification marker.
18 (2) The Department of Revenue shall have the power and
1 may designate dealers of motor carrier vehicles located
2 within this Commonwealth to act as agents for the Department
3 of Revenue for the purpose of collecting the fee under
4 subsection (b), processing the necessary papers and issuing a
5 temporary permit to authorize the operation of a motor
6 carrier vehicle pending issuance of a permanent
7 identification marker by the department.

9 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 180 days.
