AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Transportation for
2 law enforcement on State highways in counties of the second
3 class.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $1,000,000, or as much thereof as may
7 be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the General Fund to
8 the Department of Transportation for law enforcement on State
9 highways by municipal or county police and sheriff's departments
10 in counties of the second class, to be determined by multiplying
11 the State highway miles within the municipality or county by the
12 money allowance for each mile of State highway which is served
13 by a municipal or county police force within this Commonwealth
14 for the fiscal year July 1, 1988, to June 30, 1989.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1988, or
16 immediately, whichever is later.
