AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Community Affairs
2 for limited subsidence assistance.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The sum of $10,000,000, or as much thereof as may
6 be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
7 Community Affairs for the fiscal year July 1, 1986, to June 20,
8 1987, to reimburse any city of the first class or any agency
9 thereof which incurs expenses in the relocation of individuals
10 because the residences of such individuals were determined to be
11 imminently or structurally dangerous due to subsidence. Such
12 dangerous property has a blighting influence on the community
13 and the elimination of such blighting influence and the
14 activities incident to such elimination, including the
15 relocation of individuals adversely affected, is hereby declared
16 to be a public purpose. The reimbursement to a city of the first
17 class or an agency thereof shall be for the actual expenses of
1 relocation. The maximum amount of reimbursement per residential
2 unit shall not exceed $5,000.
3 Section 2. This appropriation shall be a continuing
4 appropriation and shall not lapse.
5 Section 3. This act shall be retroactive to July 1, 1986.
6 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
