AN ACT
1 Amending the act of October 18, 1972 (P.L.951, No.232), entitled <--
2 "An act amending the act of June 22, 1931 (P.L.594, No.203),
3 entitled 'An act establishing certain township roads as State
4 highways; authorizing their construction, maintenance, and
5 improvement under certain conditions and restrictions;
6 limiting the obligation of the Commonwealth in the
7 construction of certain structures located on such highways;
8 conferring certain powers upon the Department of Highways and
9 local authorities, persons, associations and corporations for
10 sharing the cost of the maintenance and construction of such
11 highways; and making an appropriation to carry out the
12 provisions of said act,' changing routes in Centre County,"
13 further providing for the effective date.
14 AMENDING THE ACT OF JUNE 22, 1931 (P.L.594, NO.203), ENTITLED <--
15 "AN ACT ESTABLISHING CERTAIN TOWNSHIP ROADS AS STATE
16 HIGHWAYS; AUTHORIZING THEIR CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND
17 IMPROVEMENT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS;
18 LIMITING THE OBLIGATION OF THE COMMONWEALTH IN THE
19 CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN STRUCTURES LOCATED ON SUCH HIGHWAYS;
20 CONFERRING CERTAIN POWERS UPON THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND
21 LOCAL AUTHORITIES, PERSONS, ASSOCIATIONS AND CORPORATIONS FOR
22 SHARING THE COST OF THE MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH
23 HIGHWAYS; AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CARRY OUT THE
24 PROVISIONS OF SAID ACT," FURTHER PROVIDING FOR THE
25 DESCRIPTION OF ROUTE 14016 IN CENTRE COUNTY.
26 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
27 hereby enacts as follows:
28 Section 1. Section 2 of the act of October 18, 1972 <--
1 (P.L.951, No.232), entitled "An act amending the act of June 22,
2 1931 (P.L.594, No.203), entitled 'An act establishing certain
3 township roads as State highways; authorizing their
4 construction, maintenance, and improvement under certain
5 conditions and restrictions; limiting the obligation of the
6 Commonwealth in the construction of certain structures located
7 on such highways; conferring certain powers upon the Department
8 of Highways and local authorities, persons, associations and
9 corporations for sharing the cost of the maintenance and
10 construction of such highways; and making an appropriation to
11 carry out the provisions of said act,' changing routes in Centre
12 County," amended July 3, 1974 (P.L.457, No.160), is amended to
13 read:
14 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately as to the
15 amendment of Route 14014. As to the amendment of Route 14016,
16 this amending act shall take effect upon completion of the
17 highway project involving L.R. 1050(2) and .R.R. 14016, Spur F,
18 from Township road 342 in the Township of College to L.R. 1050,
19 identified as Map 12 in the Pennsylvania State Highway
20 Commission's Six-Year Improvement Program--July 1, 1969 to June
21 30, 1975 and the restoration of those portions of L.R. 14016 to
22 be turned over to Patton Township as specified in 75 Pa.C.S. §
23 9207 (relating to restoration of highways).
24 Section 2. This act shall be retroactive to September 1,
25 1974.
26 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
27 SECTION 1. AS MUCH AS RELATES TO ROUTE 14016 IN SECTION 15 <--
28 OF THE ACT OF JUNE 22, 1931 (P.L.594, NO.203), REFERRED TO AS
29 THE TOWNSHIP STATE HIGHWAY LAW, IS AMENDED TO READ:
30 SECTION 15. THE TOWNSHIP ROADS TO BE TAKEN OVER, UNDER THE

1 PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT, IN THE COUNTY OF CENTRE, ARE THOSE
2 SITUATE AND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:

4 ROUTE 14016. BEGINNING AT A POINT ON ROUTE 346 ABOUT 0.75 OF
5 A MILE NORTHEAST OF BRIARLY; THENCE IN A SOUTHEASTERLY,
6 SOUTHWESTERLY, AND SOUTHEASTERLY DIRECTION IN PATTON TOWNSHIP TO
7 THE PATTON-COLLEGE TOWNSHIP LINE; THENCE SOUTHEASTERLY IN
8 COLLEGE TOWNSHIP FOR ABOUT 0.8 OF A MILE TO A ROAD INTERSECTION;
9 THENCE SOUTHERLY AND SOUTHWESTERLY TO A POINT ON THE NORTH LINE
10 OF STATE COLLEGE BOROUGH; [THE NORTHERN LINE OF STATE COLLEGE
11 BOROUGH AND COLLEGE TOWNSHIP;] THENCE NORTHEAST THROUGH COLLEGE
12 TOWNSHIP TO TOWNSHIP ROAD 342, IN COLLEGE TOWNSHIP, IN CENTRE
13 COUNTY, A DISTANCE OF ABOUT [1.0 MILE] 4.8 MILES.

15 SECTION 2. AS MUCH AS RELATES TO ROUTE 14016 IN THE ACT OF
16 OCTOBER 18, 1972 (P.L.951, NO.232), ENTITLED "AN ACT AMENDING
17 THE ACT OF JUNE 22, 1931 (P.L.594, NO.203), ENTITLED 'AN ACT
18 ESTABLISHING CERTAIN TOWNSHIP ROADS AS STATE HIGHWAYS;

28 SECTION 3. THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
