AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," requiring courses in ethics and
6 discipline to be taught to certain public school students.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
10 as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding sections
11 to read:
12 Section 1511.2. Ethics and Discipline.--Every public
13 elementary school shall provide instruction, in grade 3 and
14 upward, dealing with ethics and discipline. This course shall be
15 a requirement for all students in grade 3 and upward.
16 Section 1605.1. Ethics and Discipline.--Every public
17 secondary school shall provide instruction dealing with ethics
18 and discipline. This course shall be a requirement for all
19 students.
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
