A RESOLUTION
1 Proclaiming December 1 through December 7, 1985, as "Home Health
2 Care Week."
3 WHEREAS, Home health care is a vital health care service
4 available to citizens of this Commonwealth; and
5 WHEREAS, Home health care services are given to patients
6 regardless of their race, religion, nationality or ability to
7 pay; and
8 WHEREAS, Home health services enable patients to be treated
9 at home, thereby keeping family members together; and
10 WHEREAS, Home health care fosters more rapid recovery,
11 earlier hospital discharge and reduced admissions to
12 institutions; and
13 WHEREAS, Most persons prefer to remain with their families in
14 the comfort and security of their homes; and
15 WHEREAS, The number and variety of treatments and therapies
16 available to patients in their homes is increasing; and
17 WHEREAS, There is growing evidence that home health care is
1 an economical means of treating patients; and
2 WHEREAS, The Governor of Pennsylvania has proclaimed December
3 1 through December 7, 1985, as "Home Health Care Week";
4 therefore be it
5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby joins the
6 Governor and asks the citizens of this Commonwealth to do
7 likewise in recognition and appreciation of the valuable service
8 provided by home health care agencies.
