        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, NOVEMBER 18, 1985

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of December 9 through 13, 1985, as "Fred
     2     Ciletti Week" in the House of Representatives.

     3     WHEREAS, Mr. Frederick M. Ciletti is about to retire in
     4  January of 1986 after serving as the representative in the
     5  General Assembly of The Pennsylvania State University since
     6  1969; and
     7     WHEREAS, Mr. Ciletti has been a Special Assistant to the
     8  President of The Pennsylvania State University since 1975, in
     9  which capacity he heads the Office of Governmental Affairs; and
    10     WHEREAS, Prior to that Mr. Ciletti represented Penn State as
    11  Director of Commonwealth Relations in the Office of Vice


     1  President for Public Affairs since 1969, where he had the
     2  responsibility of reporting on the University's stewardship as a
     3  land-grant university to the executive and legislative branches
     4  of the state government; and
     5     WHEREAS, Mr. Ciletti, a native of Philadelphia, received his
     6  bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees from Penn State,
     7  both in English literature; and
     8     WHEREAS, Mr. Ciletti served as a teacher of English and Dean
     9  of Student Affairs at branch campuses of Penn State, and served
    10  two terms on Pottsville City Council. He was vice president of
    11  the Pottsville YMCA, a member of the Pottsville Library Board
    12  and a member of the Schuylkill County Child Welfare Board; and
    13     WHEREAS, Mr. Ciletti is a veteran of World War II, having
    14  served from 1943 to 1946 with the United States Air Force in the
    15  South Pacific, Western Pacific and the United States occupation
    16  forces in Japan; therefore be it
    17     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    18  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania extend its sincere thanks to Mr.
    19  Ciletti for his more than 16 years of service and congratulate
    20  him on his retirement, although he will be sorely missed; and be
    21  it further
    22     RESOLVED, That Frank E. Forni be congratulated on his
    23  succession to the post of Special Assistant to the President of
    24  The Pennsylvania State University and head of the Office of
    25  Governmental Affairs; and be it further
    26     RESOLVED, That the week of December 9 through 13, 1985, be
    27  proclaimed as "Fred Ciletti Week" in the House of
    28  Representatives; and be it further
    29     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
    30  Mr. Ciletti, Mr. Forni and the Office of Governmental Affairs at
