AN ACT
1 Amending Titles 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) and 75
2 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, funding
3 local police programs; and increasing summary traffic fines.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 3573(b) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
8 § 3573. Municipal corporation portion of fines, etc.

10 (b) Vehicle offenses.--

12 (4) When prosecution for a summary traffic offense under
13 Title 75 is the result of local police action, $1 of each
14 fine collected shall be payable to the municipal corporation
15 under which the local police are organized, to be used solely
16 for equipment purchases and training programs.

18 Section 2. Section 6502(a) of Title 75 is amended to read:
1 § 6502. Summary offenses.
2 (a) Violations of this title.--It is a summary offense for
3 any person to violate any of the provisions of this title unless
4 the violation is by this title or other statute of this
5 Commonwealth declared to be a misdemeanor or felony. Every
6 person convicted of a summary offense for a violation of any of
7 the provisions of this title for which another penalty is not
8 provided shall be sentenced to pay a fine of [$25] $26.

10 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
