                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, prohibiting the connection of
     3     automatic alarms to automatic telephone dialing systems set
     4     to call the general public emergency number.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     9  § 7508.  Connection of alarms to dialing systems which call the
    10             general public emergency number.
    11     A person commits a misdemeanor of the second degree if he
    12  connects, or permits the connection of, an automatic alarm to an
    13  automatic telephone dialing system, which is set to call an
    14  emergency telephone number established in a municipality as the
    15  number for the general public to call in order to obtain
    16  emergency police, ambulance or fire responses.
    17     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
