AN ACT
1 Providing for the submission to the electors of each county of a
2 nonbinding referendum relating to the building of a low-level
3 radioactive waste disposal site in the county.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Nonbinding referendum on ballot.
7 At the municipal or general election next following the
8 effective date of this act, a nonbinding referendum shall be
9 placed upon the ballot in each county for consideration by the
10 electors of the county. The ballot question shall be:
11 Do you approve the building of a low-level radioactive
12 waste disposal site in county?
13 Section 2. Conformity with Pennsylvania Election Code.
14 This referendum shall be held in accordance with the act of
15 June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania
16 Election Code, and the results thereof shall be disseminated to
17 the press and the general public by the county board of
1 elections as soon as practicable.
2 Section 3. Effective date.
3 This act shall take effect immediately.
