AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," mandating acceptance of accrued
6 credits by educational institutions from other educational
7 institutions within the State System of Higher Education.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
11 as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
12 section to read:
13 Section 2018-A. Mandatory Acceptance of Accrued Credits.--
14 Credits accrued by any student for courses at an educational
15 institution within the State System of Higher Education shall be
16 accepted by any other educational institution within the system
17 and shall be transferred to the accepting institution.
18 Information relating to the transferability of credits shall be
19 provided to students by each educational institution. This <--
1 section shall apply to courses completed at regionally
2 accredited colleges and universities within this Commonwealth.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
